Celebrating Bring Your Dog To Work Day
This year we’re supporting Bring Your Dog To Work Day (22 June), an annual nationwide event that encourages businesses to open their doors to four-legged companions to accompany their owners to work, all in the name of charity.
Now in its fifth year, the event is organised by HOWND® with all proceeds this year going to All Dogs Matter a charity that re-homes hundreds of dogs every year in London and Norfolk.
At WPNC, a regular canine visitor to our office is Wallace (owned by our Head of Account Management, Hannah Williams, an adorable Whippet, who charms us with his affection and entertains us with his tricks (check out the snack-snaffling video).
There’s plenty of research to back up the benefits of dogs in the workplace, including reducing stress levels, increasing job satisfaction and according to a 2010 study from the Central Michigan University, promoting trust between co-workers and greater collaboration.
We couldn’t agree more and feel much better on the days when Wallace chooses us over doggy day care (despite our bins/pockets/drawers and bags being emptied of anything you can remotely call food!).
Happy Bring your Dog To Work Day, woof!
